Pictured is the Evan Walker footbridge, located at Southbank in Melbourne’s popular dining and entertainment precinct along the Yarra River.
The structure was named after Councillor Evan Walker, who was the driving force between the revitalisation of the Southbank area into the popular, colourful place that it is today. The footbridge is one of several crossings of the Yarra in its 240-odd kilometre journey through Victoria, ending at Hobson’s Bay where it meets Port Phillip Bay.
The photo is a 10 second exposure, which brings out the colours on display in the evening. This is in stark contrast to the colour of the river during daylight hours – you don’t get branded the “Upside Down River” for nothing.
