January 15th – Then and Now

Then and Now

I’ll just leave this right here …..

It was an active night in the garden last night.
This post is a popular spot, with this cicada, possibly a Floury Baker, having to hatch half way down this garden post because the premium parking spots had already been taken.

The possible naming has come from Flickr after posting in a cicada group, a great resource for ID’ing insects, plants and animals.

It has been a couple of years since I caught this species on camera, which are distinctly more pale and smaller than the other brown/green breeds we spot in the garden.

I’m curious to see what it would look like in the morning once the drying is complete, but I’m not sure my wife would appreciate them hanging from the curtains overnight.
