It’s been a while since my last light-trail, and this is a location I’ve had my eye on for some time.
This location is the footbridge on Victoria Rd beside Riverside Girls High, at the bottom of the descent from the Gladesville Bridge. The scene is a little ‘flat’, ideally you want some form of foreground scenery to make the photo look like an everyday snapshot.
I’ve found the key with light trails is elevation so you get a nice, long streak of light, and preferably with traffic going in both directions.
I was a little rusty however, finally settling on mid/high aperture (f13 here) and low ISO (100), but to make that work you need a longer exposure time (31 seconds in this photo).
