Yesterdays trip to the coast almost didn’t happen.
Not entirely true – we arrived and parked the car. What happened next was a classic Sydney afternoon following a stinking hot day – a huge thunderstorm that followed us eastward along Birrell St threw lightening bolts, thunder and rain, a lot of rain, our way.
As the storm progressed out to see, I sat under the cover of the rear door of our car and snapped one of the forks wending its way to the earths surface – in this case a few kilometres out in the Pacific Ocean.
Soon after we hopped out of the car, and by the time we arrived on the soft (now wet) sand of Tamarama beach, the sun was out and we were off to buy suncream.
