Often walking through town I pass these bright valve covers protruding from the new Macquarie Bank building on Castlereagh St.
Really this was an exercise in playing with depth, though having a lens that alters the minimum aperture as you zoom (to f5.6) effectively reduces this effect. This photo is also a candidate for doing that spot-colour thing I do.
As for the valves, there’s dozens of them so I’m hoping someone knows what to do with them if and when the eventuality arises.
Regardless, it’s nice to a little bit of colour in the city – even if it is a legal requirement.
