September 28th – Parallel Crossing

Parallel Crossing

On a day spent at the Newington Armory playground, I took the bike through some of the paths I haven’t previously travelled..

This small narrow bridge spans the small-gauge railway that still exists at the Armory, and forms one of the countless cycling paths through the parklands. I’m quite fond of the numerous sets of parallel lines.

The site was once owned and run by the RANAD – Royal Australian Naval Armament Depot. The rails still exist today and links up the 100-odd heritage listed war-time structures, though only partially used for tours.
