The macro lens has opened up the world, and allowed me to appreciate some truly beautiful things. But occasionally you come across something different.
On Monday’s the neighbourhood gardens are usually fair game. On this, the first day of Spring, I reckon I am entitled to post another floral photo.
But this rosebush was completely devoid of flowers. And overly populated with prickles.
Which is a terrific segue into today’s useless trivia – a rosebush doesn’t have thorns, it has prickles.
While they are all annoyingly pointy, thorns are effectively branches, spikes appear in clusters, while the prickle is a spot on the epidermis much akin to hair.
You can thank me later.
