As Homer’s mate Barney suggests, nothing good can come from certain sounds.
It’s mid-afternoon in the CBD and the usual drone of construction is pierced by the sound of plastic car panels being twisted and wrenched off their mounts.
It’s enough to make the 20 or so passers by stop and wince. I’m pretty sure we all thought the same thing – “that looks expensive”.
Realising his mistake, the driver of the ute moved forwards to release the tangled mess. Cue that awful sound again.
Having been in a very similar circumstance I can empathise with the driver at fault, though my thoughts go out to the (new looking) Hi-Lux owner – the tray of the ute barely had a scratch.
