This photo was taken on the Bentley Road (otherwise known as the Lismore – Kyogle Rd), which crosses in 2 locations.
This photo was taken just a few hundred metres from the Naughton’s Gap tunnel.
The tracks across the road have been buried under a fresh layer of bitumen, never to be uncovered it seems.
The train service was useful for many (and a useful alternative to the road to Bangalow), but the railroad crossing tested out the shocks in your car travelling at speed.
I initially stopped to take a shot of the junction box beside the road which I’d only recently noticed. In fact when discussing it with locals, they aren’t even aware of its presence.
